AI website mockup generator: from a brief to a full multi-page mockup
A website mockup used to take a designer a few days. With an AI website mockup generator you can see every page of a site in one sitting, decide what works, and hand over HTML or Figma files. This guide shows how to get a mockup worth showing to a client.
Mockup, wireframe or website?
The words get mixed up, so a quick definition helps:
- A wireframe shows structure only: boxes, headings, placeholders.
- A mockup shows how the finished site looks: real layout, colours, fonts, photos and copy, but it is not a live site.
- A website is built, hosted and connected to forms, payments or a CMS.
An AI website mockup generator gives you the middle one, fast. That is the stage where most decisions are made: which pages exist, what goes on them, and what the brand looks like.
Step 1: pick the type of website
Open Lyxvo Design and choose Website. Lyxvo asks for the Website type, because each type needs different pages:
| Website type | Pages the plan usually includes |
|---|---|
| Landing page | hero with one promise, benefits, how it works, pricing, FAQ, final call to action, thank-you page |
| Company profile | home, about us, services, portfolio or clients, team, careers, contact with map |
| Online store | home, category with filters, product detail, cart, checkout, order confirmation, account |
| Dashboard / admin | overview with charts, data table, detail page, create/edit form, settings, login |
| SaaS / web app | marketing home, pricing, sign up, onboarding, main workspace, settings and billing |
| Blog / news | home, category page, article page, author page, search, newsletter |
| Portfolio | selected work, case study, about, services, contact |
| Event / wedding | date and countdown, agenda, venue and map, gallery, RSVP |
| School / course | programs, course detail, teachers, enrollment form, student dashboard |
Not sure? Leave it on Automatic and the plan picks the type from your description.
Step 2: write the brief
Describe the business as you would to a web designer:
- Who it is: "A small architecture studio in Lisbon, three partners, residential projects."
- The goal of the site: "Get enquiries from homeowners planning a renovation."
- What must be on it: "Projects with photos, the team, services, a contact form."
- The look: "Minimal, lots of white, black type, one terracotta accent."
Press the arrow. The agent writes the Page plan first: every page with its purpose. Add anything missing with Add page, then press Make all pages.
Step 3: review it on every screen size
Websites are viewed on phones more than anywhere else, so check every page at Mobile, Tablet and Desktop in the preview. If a page does not adapt well, ask: "make this page fully responsive for mobile and desktop."
Then press Present and click through the navigation. Links between pages are wired up, so you can check that "Projects" goes to the projects page and each project card opens the case study.
Step 4: refine with the client in mind
The fastest edits are written requests in the prompt box at the bottom:
- "Replace the hero photo with a full-width image of a bright living room."
- "Add a section with three steps: consultation, design, build."
- "Make the contact form shorter: name, email, message."
For small text changes, double-click the page and type directly. If you want to compare directions, right-click a page and choose Variations to get three versions with a different layout, colour treatment or style.
Need real people to comment? Press Share → Work together and invite your client or colleague by email; you see each other's changes live. A public link is enough if they only need to look.
Step 5: export the mockup
Under Export you can choose:
- .zip (HTML + DESIGN.md): every page as an HTML file, plus the design system (colours, typography, screens) as Markdown. A developer can open the files in a browser right away.
- Code to clipboard: the HTML of every page, one after another.
- Copy to Figma or Figma (SVG + tokens): editable layers for a designer.
- Download PNG: images of each page for a proposal or a presentation.
A mockup is not a hosted website. To go live, a developer (or you) turns the HTML into a site with hosting, forms and analytics.
Writing tips that change the result
- Give real content. Real service names, a real city and an actual opening line make the mockup credible. Put in your own reviews and client logos if you have them, and replace any sample text before the site goes live.
- Say what the visitor should do. "Book a consultation" as the main call to action shapes every page.
- Mention the competition you admire, not copy. "Clean like a gallery site" is better than "like the website of studio X".
- One website per design. A second site deserves its own design, so the plan stays clean.
Who uses an AI website mockup generator
- Freelancers and agencies who want to show a client three directions in the first meeting.
- Founders who need a landing page mockup to test a message before building.
- Developers who prefer to start coding from a designed page instead of a blank file.
- Small businesses who want to brief a web developer clearly.
